sunday thoughts: a challenge for you.

"I know your lives are busy. I know that you have much to do. But I make you a promise that if you will go to the house of the Lord, you will be blessed; life will be better for you."
—Gordon B. Hinckley

Almost two years ago, after hearing this quote, I began to think about how much I took for granted.

There are people all over the world who spend their entire lives saving & working towards attending a temple and here I am, two minutes away from one, and I couldn't even remember the last time I had gone. After realizing this, I made a promise to myself that this would change.

I promised myself that I would attend the temple once a week.

For the past two years, while being in Logan, I have worked very hard to keep this promise.
Some weeks were easier than others, some weeks it was almost impossible.
But, short of only few times, I have kept my promise to myself & my Heavenly Father.

It wasn't very long before I began to see the blessings; feeling a new sense of peace in my life. I began to wonder why I hadn't started earlier.  I can't describe the comfort & answers I find within the walls of the temple.  Within those beautiful walls are amazing temple workers, who unknowingly, have changed my life. Their friendship & kind words have come in times when I have needed them most.  Most of all, I love being able to help those who have gone before me, preforming ordinances vicariously for them.

I cannot even begin to express my love for the temple.  So, my challenge for you..

Go. Experience this all on your own.
Feel the love and Spirit within those walls.
Let the temple bless you - make the temple a priority!

"Just as our Redeemer gave His life as a vicarious sacrifice for all men, and in so doing became our Savior, even so we, in a small measure, when we engage in proxy work in the temple, become as saviors to those on the other side."
—Gordon B. Hinckley
